  Batteries

Maybe one of the most important parts of the car is the battery, if the battery fails then you don’t drive the car. The car batter is an electrical battery that gives the electricity to the starter motor and the ignition system, without power to these engine systems the car does not run. The batteries are usually a lead acid battery that gives off about 12 volts. The acid in the battery is about 35 percent acid and 65 percent water. As you charge the battery the lead is out back into the plates allowing more usage.

When you need to recharge your battery if you get stuck and the car won’t start, you will need a set of jumper cables. There are two ends on the cable a black connector and a red connector, place the connectors on one car’s battery and then make sure when you hook up the cables to your car (your car gets hooked up last) that the red matches the same positive or negative you place on the first car.
Jumping a car is a quick fix but you still will have to change the battery. You should do this as soon as you can because by using a non full charged battery you run the risk of draining the energy from the engine and that may lead to other problems. You can find car batteries at any local car part store. The Sears Die Hard batteries seem to be the most popular they have a great reputation.
